How to Fix Runtime Error 3265?

January 15th, 2010

If you receive a runtime error 3265 there are a couple of things you can do to resolve the issue.  It may be something simple as a corrupt file or it may be a corrupt pointer.  Regardless it is fixable without having to reload the whole system.  With just a couple of simple things you can assist in troubleshooting your issue and more than likely fixing it.

Solution # 1 – Hardware:

The first thing I would do is run a scandisk and defrag to ensure you are not having hard drive issues that could be causing you the problem.  A scandisk will ensure that any files are not on a corrupt portion of the hard drive and correct any indexing problems you system may have.  A defrag will move your files so that they are continuous and clear any hard drive sectors that may have had files in them.  Not only may this resolve your issue it may increase the performance of your pc, which in turn will make you more productive when you are using it.

Solution # 2 – Software:

As part of fixing the runtime error of 3265 you may find it is a good idea to get a registry cleaner.  This program will backup your registry allowing you to recover it to a certain point.  It will check to verify all that pointers in the registry exist and are in the correct location.  If they are not or the files are corrupt you can get this error.  Running a registry cleaner will help to resolve this issue.
