Backup Online rather than Locally
December 30th, 2009
Used to be if you wanted to get a backup done, you would have to do it yourself. When you finished your work, you would copy the data over to a floppy, to a 3.5 disk, to an external hard drive, and then a thumb drive. Remember the ZIP drives? I had one of those, too. The problem with having all these different media is just that. You’ve got to keep the hardware that reads whatever you’ve got in storage. When you take care of your backup online, you don’t have to worry about that. You don’t have to worry about what disk your backup is on, no matter how old it is.
