Hospital Prefers to Hire Medical Transcriptionists with Formal Education

My older sister has a lot of experience in transcription but not in the medical field. She saw an advertisement for a job as a medical transcriptionist at the local hospital and called to get more information. She told the human resources manager about her experience and asked if she qualified for the job. The human resources representative suggested that she get formal medical transcription education and then check back to see if they have openings. The medical terminology is very specialized which is why she suggested the formal education.
