My Story With University Of Texas Football

March 22nd, 2011

University Of Texas At Austin Football actually had its inaugural season in the nineteenth century, specifically the year 1893. The University of Texas at Austin football team is called the Longhorns or the Horns, for short. A Texas longhorn steer named Bevo has played the role of Longhorns team mascot since 1916. The Longhorns’ team color is burnt orange, which happens to be Bevo’s coloring too. The Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium has served as the Longhorns’ home stadium since it first opened in 1924. The University of Texas football team plays in the Big 12 Conference, South Division. The University of Texas football team won the 1963, 1969, 1970, and 2005 national championships. Memorable bowl games for the Horns include the 2010 BCS Bowl, 2009 Fiesta Bowl, 2007 Alamo Bowl, and 2006 Rose Bowl.
