Japanese dog dressing
August 2nd, 2010
Some people don’t approve of duded up pups but that’s not the case with the Japanese, who may have the most fashionable dogs on the planet. They take every occasion, both ceremonial and social, to outfit their best friends. Japanese dog dressing is not only for diminutive dogs, either. Case in point: the Tosa Inu, a mix of mastiff and great Dane that’s popular in Japan. Considered the sumo wrestlers of the canine set, the Tosa Inu participate in a very civilized form of combat — not your typical down-and-dirty dogfight — and the winner’s outfits are duly ornate. And these big dogs also get decked out for just relaxing in the snow, including very stylish booties, the better to protect their oversized paws.
