My Mom Needed an Idea for Christmas, So She Looked at Laundry Differently

January 16th, 2010

Every year for Christmas, my mom finds new ways to wrap my families and my gifts. One year she did a garbage theme, and wrapped everything in old newspapers and things like that, and then another year, she wrapped everything in really funky wrapping paper and made a Dr. Seuss theme. However, my favorite thing that she did was the year that her theme was laundry.

I was so excited when I saw the presents start to show up under the tree. Not only did my mom wrap everything in different shirts and pants, but also somehow she was able to find all kinds Christmas hampers to put the clothes in. The Christmas hampers that she found were all different colors and shapes and sizes, and some of the hampers even had pictures of little snowmen or candy canes on them.

Normally, my parents get us kids more than one gift, so the Xmas hampers were really handy because she just wrapped all of our gifts in different pieces of laundry and then just put our gifts in our own designated hamper. Another reason the xmas hampers were a really good idea is because every year we travel to my grandparents’ house and the hampers made for easy travel. We were able to just pack the Christmas hampers in the back of the car and go.

Needless to say, my mom’s laundry gift-wrap idea was a big hit at our family Christmas party, and the Xmas hampers were the icing on the cake in my opinion.
