How to Inspect Chimneys

Every western house features a chimney. During winter, the chimney is often used to provide warmth in the entire house. Because it is exposed to fire, chimney parging can easily get ruined. Regular inspection should be performed to check for cracks and loose sections in the parging. If the finishing it damaged, look for parging repair services as soon as possible. It is also important to see if there are deteriorated bricks. Chimney caps should be checked for damaged sections and liners. If there’s a problem with flashings, it is an indication of leakage. It there’s a salt build-up, it could indicate moisture.
