Buying a Dog Bowl

January 6th, 2012

There are many kinds of personalized dog bowls, and I couldn’t decide which to choose for my new Australian shepherd mix, whose name is Foxy.  I wanted to get the best bowls for her, so I went down to the pet store, and that’s when I realized how hard the choice was going to be.  There were metal, plastic and ceramic bowls, but I automatically ruled out the latter since I do have three small children.  I didn’t want the bowl to get broken because someone could get cut by the jagged pieces of ceramic.  There were also bowls with non-skid rubber on the bottoms to keep them from sliding around, and some even had two bowls connected for both food and water.  After checking them all out and debating their merits in my head, I finally decided on plastic, non-skid bowls that were separate.  I didn’t want water getting in the food and vice versa, so the connected ones weren’t for me.  Foxy eats and drinks out of them every day with no sign of complaint, so I think I made a good choice.
