VDI: What is it?

VDI or a virtual desktop infrastructure refers to the process of running an end user desktop that is inside a virtual machine that actually lives on a server in the datacenter of a computer. It’s also a powerful form of desktop virtualization, since it enables a fully personalized desktop for every end user that has all the security and simplicity of having a centralized management. However, unlike any other desktop system VDI has been designed in a revolutionary way, the desktop system can actually provide a full range of desktop virtualization technologies to all types of end users such as task workers, power users, guest workers, contractors, and mobile employees.
