Left my phone at home

I have just arrived in New York City where I will be spending my entire summer on a working holiday. It is more amazing than I ever imagined it and I wish my girlfriend could be here to experience it with me. I would love to text and call her to tell her but it seems as though I left the United Kingdom without my phone so at the moment I am trying to find a ‘cell phone’ as they call them over here to use. I want to find out where I can check my text messages online too as I am sure that she will have text me a number of times and be worried that she hasn’t got a response.
