The seven member board of directors that runs the WCB in BC is appointed by the Minister of Labour and Citizens’ Services. The public interest is given priority in all transactions by the board as mandated by legislation. There is a balance from employer, worker and health care personnel in representation. The directors oversee the business of WorkSafeBC, and they supervise the management of the daily operations. The directors also ensure that the Workers’ Compensation Board is operated according to TSX Guidelines which provides for only the most effective corporate governance.
