San Diego Translation Service Reveals Illegal Immigrants in San Diego

November 22nd, 2009

The American Apparel company is one of a few American clothing manufacturers that can compete with Chinese sweat shop labor because it keeps its costs and overhead extremely low.  According to a San Diego translation service, the company employs several thousand immigrants and pays them more than is the standard for factory garment workers.  However, after several visits by immigration officials last week, American Apparel has been forced to fire nearly 2000 workers whose immigration or citizenship papers were found to be fraudulent.  The company president is beside himself as many of these employees have been with the company for years, strengthening his belief that immigration fosters economic prosperity.  Most of the fired workers are Latin American, Chinese, Korean or Vietnamese.  Not likely to be deported since most of them have children who are American citizens, the workers will join the ranks of the growing number of unemployed in this country.
