Government Bailout Package

Shortly after the federal government bailout of all the banks and other things, my Dad explained that what the government should have done was give every American $20,000 dollars. I can’t remember what exact number he came up with but if you divide the bailout evenly among all Americans it is a huge sum for everyone.
I think that is my major problem with the bailout. That the government will help the ‘big guys’ who have been incompetant in running their companies, and ultimately the average American will not see any of the bailout money, and will probably be the ones paying all that money back eventually through taxes.
