Eftpos Machines And The Cards They Will Accept

Your credit card machine can be programmed to accept all major credit card types. They are usually programmed to accept Visa and MasterCard as well as debit cards such as eftpos. In most cases you will need to approach American Express and Diners Club separately and apply to accept their credit cards. This can all be done on the same terminal. Amex and Diners Club in Australia will require your merchant ID and Terminal ID to link in. Special cards such as BarterCard, Medicare Card and Motorcharge need additional software so they will process. Not all terminals offer this functionality so you should discuss your exact requirements with your eftpos broker or bank.
