In a world that places importance and status on the vanity of such things as your hair, looks, and style, I typically feel like the ugly duckling or odd man out. I will style my hair and look nice, however I do not spend an inordinate amount of time styling my hair and trying to impress everything I cross paths with. I do not fuss over a bad hair day; I just figure that it was meant for me to wear it up in a ponytail that day. I also refuse to pay for my hair to be stylist. My own two arms should be able to come up with a presentable look… right? Well I decided those two arms may need just a little help. I wanted a nice curly look, so decided to purchase some conair curling irons to aid my arms in a new, beautiful, fit for a queen hairstyle.

On friday night I went to the cinema to watch the must see film of the moment, Avatar in 3D. The cinema was packed out and the queues were like I had never seen before, to get into the cinema. We went to buy our tickets and then to get food and drinks. I had popcorn, but most other people had nachos. I did not buy a drink because I knew, from seeing it in the local newspaper that the cinema had bought a brand new, state of the art, drinking fountain. That they were letting people use, free of charge. So why spend three or four pounds buying a drink?

I’ve noticed something very interesting about acoustic music lately. I’ve played my guitar for a while and tried to write acoustic songs, and after playing for so long, I think I’ve recognized a pattern in the best acoustic songs. Of course, there is no rule that will automatically produce good acoustic music. But I’ve seen that the best acoustic songs are simple and robust.
By simple I mean that some of the best acoustic songs ever only have four chords. A lot of those simple songs keep a very easy chord progression, or even the same progression throughout the song. By robust, I mean that they are adaptable. The melody of the songs can vary in many ways around that simple riff. As an acoustic artist, I’ve learned alot by playing the best acoustic songs.

When I got married last April 4th I didn’t realize that my wife had so many friends. This was kind of a positive aspect of our marriage because when I moved to Shreveport I really didn’t know too many people. Just the other day my wife and I drove down to her friends that own a bakery in a nearby town. On the drive down to see her friends my wife told me about their work with New Tribe Missions and how their adopted son Theo is making some real strides within that organization. We wound up having a great day with her friends and came home with a bunch of baked goods.

I have some really amazing childhood memories and one was fondly remembered recently after a trip to Randy’s Wooster Street Pizza. They are quite a unique place New Haven style pizza which is the absolute best pizza you can find and on top of that a unique atmosphere that makes it great for the whole family. I have a wonderful memory of my grandfather bringing us there for my brothers birthday and we sat in a big yellow bus that had been converted to a dinner area. I will never forget it, I remember how good the pizza was and how the fried wicked sticks melted in our mouths…not to mention dining in a yellow bu INSIDE a restaurant!! Very cool and it was great to see them still in business and going strong, I can’t wait to take my own children there some day.

My cousin is not an attorney but he deals with them everyday. The legal profession is very unique, it requires a great deal of technical expertise plus the drive and enthusiasm of an entrepreneur. Most lawyers have the technical side down pat and they struggle with the sales, law firm marketing and business management side of the business. What most people don’t realize is that a law practice is a small business just like a donut shop and if people don’t buy donuts or legal services both businesses are in big trouble. That is where my cousin comes in, he coaches attorneys to enhance their marketing programs through all forms of media.

Norman has a lot of large equipment that he uses in his business. He has been looking at the cost of building a large storage building for the equipment and decided he wanted to look for different options. Norman had read somewhere about pole barns and he wanted to find out more information about them and about the pole barn construction. He was able to find a lot of information on the web and he was really surprised at how easy it was to build a pole barn. He already had the cement that he needed and he could get the pole barn ordered and delivered by the middle of next month.

I was working hard each week and it seemed as if I never had any money to save. I paid all the bills and was left with very little. Then I decided to see where I could save, by looking at my spending. I went on the internet and researched cheap car insurance for women. I had no idea that I was paying too much and that I could switch and save money. Once I saw that I could save $60 a month I made the decision to switch to the new company. Now I take that money and put it right into my savings. This is wonderful!
