I am so excited to be moving to California at last. It has been a long road to get here, but I think I have almost everything in place. I can’t move into my condo for another week, but that’s o-kay because the Monterey Hotels in this area are very accommodating and pretty affordable. I like lounging around the pool too. My condo unit is part of an association that has lots of amenities that I have never had before. This is really an amazing place. My girlfriend is going to fly out to visit me in a couple of weeks. If I can convince her to move out also, then everything will be perfect.

My first apartment is a study in small space living. The living room is also the dining room. My coffee table doubles as a dining table though the height can be adjusted, and I have folding chairs for when I have company. My kitchen consists of a small refrigerator, a sink, counter with a stovetop and another counter for food preparation.
My 1.5 square meter bathroom can only accommodate a small toilet, sink, and shower. My bed has so many plastic boxes and containers under it for storage. Fortunately, my apartment building has a small laundromat on the ground floor. It only has five stackable washer dryer units, so my laundry is done on a weeknight when there are not many people waiting to use the machines. At least I don’t have to carry my dirty clothes somewhere further or have to buy my own washer dryer.

My wife is my best friend and I love her very much. However, she can be a very stubborn person. The other day I teased her about the fact that the very expensive treadmill we bought was not being used and the next day, there was a treadmill for sale at our house. I told her over and over that I was just joking but she was stubborn and wanted to punish me for my comment. I am going to keep apologizing to her until she decides to not sell the treadmill because truthfully, I really like it and I plan on using it.

My wife is on this kick to save money and cut out all unnecessary spending. It’s been a pretty good deal, for the most part, but it does get to be a bit of a hassle when it comes to hobbies. I like to golf, for example, and it’s been hard to fit that it the new and tighter budget. I was able to get a GPS Golf Guru promo and that was enough to keep her happy so that I could get the tool that I had really had my eye on. I guess as long as I can budget it in and keep it reasonable, she’ll be happy.
